From the Principal

Dear Cutler Parents,

Though I love snow, I’m hoping we have seen the end of it for this year. Birds chirping and an increase in sunlight make me ready for spring.

We continue to iron out the details of our composting program and are dramatically reducing waste. In addition, Jane Roundy has been teaching children how to sort through individual classroom visits. It’s exciting to see the kids take this challenge on.

Yesterday and today, we had a community member, Mrs. Moffat, visit our 4th grade classrooms. She is a local rock expert and talked with our students about the properties of rocks and minerals. The absolute highlight was that students were able to bring rocks home to keep. She assures us she will come back and visit and help us determine what elements exist in certain rocks, should our students find any “really cool ones!”  It was a wonderful connection to the local community.

A reminder that clocks move forward this Saturday night, and that on Monday children do not have school as teachers have a professional day.

Enjoy!
