All School Meeting

This past Wednesday we had our first All-School Meeting of the year!  It was held outside on the hardtop in front of the gazebo, and it was a gorgeous morning.  The children gathered quietly at their seating locations, while two fifth-graders strummed on ukuleles.  Greetings were exchanged, and then Mrs. Graham’s class performed a skit that reminded us all of the “Three Be’s” at Cutler:   BE RESPECTFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE, BE YOUR BEST.  In their skit, they demonstrated how to remember to use the “Three Be’s” when lining up at dismissal time.  It was a creative skit, with an important message for all.

We then played a “New Staff Game”, with four staff members who are new to Cutler this year participating.  Fun facts about each of the four staff were written on separate pieces of oaktag, without names on them. Children came up and tried to match the facts with the staff members (as the whole audience looked on and tried as well). Once the matches were made, each staff member shared a bit more about their fun fact.  The students practiced saying all of their names - and were pleased to get to know some new members of the community even better.  We will continue to play this game at All-School Meetings.

ASM is a great way to build community and we look forward to one next month. Students will take more and more responsibility for leading the gatherings throughout the year!

Superintendent Meet & Greet

In an effort to improve district communication, Interim Superintendent, Eric Tracy has been hosting meet and greets across the district and the last one this month is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 19th in the High School Cafe at 8:30 am. ALL of the meetings are open to ANY parent with students in the district who would like to learn about the district initiatives, goals, and ask questions. We hope to see many of you on Tuesday.

News from The Health Office

While the state requires the consent form to present the three COVID testing strategies as a package, we will allow families to opt-out of a single strategy.

If you want to enroll in any part of the testing program, please complete this form and consent to participate in the program. To opt-out of a particular aspect of the program such as Pooled Testing please email the school nurse (l.nardella@hwschools.net) to let her know. We continue to encourage all students and staff to participate in our Pooled Testing program. This strategy is most effective when all community members partake in order to keep everyone safe in school.
