Please be cautious riding your bike to school, and remember to walk your bike once you arrive on school property. At dismissal, remind your children to walk their bikes until they are off school property to prevent any accidents with the buses and car pickup line. Please remind students to wear their helmets!
To support students and families with the important transition from Cutler to Miles River Middle School, the following events will take place on June 7th:
For Students: - Student Move-up Day - During the school day, students from all three elementary schools will join staff and students at Miles River where they will learn the landscape of the school, meet key staff, and be provided with some insights from current students about how to prepare for the transition to middle school.
For Parents/Guardians of incoming 6th graders - Welcome Night 6:45 - 8:00pm - Parents and guardians are invited to a Welcome Night in the Multi-Purpose Room at Miles River. School administration, nurse, and counseling staff will be joined by current students to welcome you and provide valuable information about the transition to middle school. After the presentation, attendees will be offered a tour of the school led by some of our Peer Leaders (student mentors).
From school nurse, Lynne Nardella: As the weather heats up towards the end of the year, please be sure to pack extra water for your children. You also may need to apply sunscreen and insect repellent before sending them to school. All 5th grade students who have not sent in a current physical, please do so. Thank you all!
Covid-19 Update
Since we have returned from April vacation, our Covid-19 case numbers are spiking. Masking is optional and masking is supported and encouraged for all who wish to continue with this mitigation practice. Masks remain available in all schools. You can find out current case counts on the new website on the HWRSD Health Office webpage under HWRSD COVID-19 Data Dashboard. Families are encouraged to keep their students home when they are sick. Also, after 5 days at home with Covid-19, anyone returning to school must wear a mask for an additional 5 days. Thank you for your support as we work together to keep our students in school.
