Dates to Remember:
From the Principal
Dear Cutler Families,
Thank you to everyone for tightening up car pick-up. It has made an enormous difference. I still need to emphasize how important it is for everyone to be aware of pedestrians! The car pick-up line reminders from last week are listed below.
I also wanted to share that historically Field Day has been a 5th grade event. This year, we have decided to make this a larger community event and we will have Field Day for the entire school. This will take place on Friday, June 7th with a rain date of the 11th. Mr. Sudak, our PE teacher, will be leading this day with parent volunteers and will soon be sharing a google form for you all to sign-up to volunteer. Please remember that volunteers need to have their CORI forms and fingerprinting complete. Mary Cadle can help you with this should you have questions.
Additionally, Mike Sudak will be out on paternity leave starting in April (he will return before the end of the year). Our long-term substitute is Kayleigh Hills and she worked at Cutler last year for a long-term sub position. The students enjoy her and I know it will be a smooth transition. Mr. Sudak will let you know when the time is closer.
I hope many will be able to participate in the “Meet the Candidates” portion of the principal hiring process. I look forward to supporting the new principal’s transition.
Wishing you all a wonderful week.
Warmly,
Juliana
It’s important that we recommit ourselves to safety in the car drop-off and pick-up line.
This is a “live” line. This means that your child must be able to independently get into the car and get out of the car. The driver should not get out of the car at any point. If your child needs help loading/unloading, please park to get them.
The absolutely safest way to load and unload your car is through the driver’s side back seat door. This means that you load all the kids into and out of the car so that they never have to walk around the car. It requires planning, and I encourage you to do this!
Please pull up all the way to the front, in order to keep the line moving. Also, this allows more cars to load and unload where the ground is flat.
Please be patient. We have had moments where people are in a rush and whip around cars. This is very dangerous as we have many children and parents walking.
If you are parking and meeting your children, please walk across to the sidewalk/ field to meet your child. There have been parents calling to their children across the parking lot, and then the children go running toward the parent, sometimes across the line of traffic. This is dangerous.
Please share this information with grandparents, babysitters and anyone else picking up your children. Many grandparents will visit, hop out of the car to help the kids in, creating confusion and back ups.
Volunteers/Guest Readers/Chaperones:
Parents/Guardians who plan to volunteer in classrooms must have a current CORI on file. To chaperone field trips or help on field day, you must have a current CORI and Fingerprinting on file. CORI and Fingerprinting are good for all HW schools. Get them done early so you are not disappointed when it comes time to volunteer in classrooms, chaperone field trips or help on field day. You can check with Mary Cadle on whether your CORI/Fingerprinting has expired.
Hello Cutler Families,
As we all venture into the new year with the best intentions to live a healthy life, I thought it would be helpful to share some ideas for Healthy Snacks for school.
Please keep in mind that we have students and staff in our Cutler community with life threatening food allergies, so please consult with your child’s teacher or school nurse for guidance regarding safe snacks in your child's classroom.
Wishing you all a happy and healthy new year !!

Guidelines for Dismissal or Reasons to Keep Your Child Home from School:
In an effort to minimize the spread of contagious illness, the Hamilton Wenham Regional School District has developed the following guidelines for determining whether your child needs to be sent home or stay home from school: Fever (elevated temperature of 100.0 or higher). Must remain home until fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicines, such as Acetaminophen (Tylenol) or Ibuprofen (Motrin or Advil).
Vomiting or diarrhea. May return to school 24 hours after the last episode.
Generalized rash of unknown origin. Must be evaluated by a doctor and provide a note for re-entry into school.
Live head lice. Must be treated at home, and then re-checked by the school nurse, preferably with a parent/guardian present, upon return to school.
Red or pink itchy eyes with crusty and/or green/yellow drainage. May return to school when there is no drainage and/or on medication for 24 hours.
Strep throat. May return 12-24 hours after beginning antibiotic treatment and feeling better.
Uncontrollable cough or symptoms that make your child unable to function in the classroom.
Please refer to the mass.gov website for COVID guidelines:
This list is a guideline. The School Nurse reserves the right to dismiss students who, in their professional opinion, are possibly contagious or are too ill to be in school.

The purpose is to raise money for The Friends of HWRHS/MRMS to fund programs for the HS and MS and at the same time save shoes from landfills and send them to micro entrepreneurs in developing nations so they can sell them and lift themselves out of poverty.
There is a collection box in the lobby for your gently worn, used, or new shoes.
