Dates to Remember:

Feb. 7:  Global Play Day
Feb. 12: School Store Week
Feb. 19:  School Vacation Week

From the Principal

Dear Cutler Families,

We have just finished our midyear assessment period. Teachers will be sending home the assessment results this Friday in backpacks. Please look for the letter, and if you have any followup questions, you are welcome to reach out to the classroom teacher.

Additionally, Kindergarten report cards are available in ASPEN on Friday. When you log in to access the report card, please also make sure all contact information is up to date. Thank you!

On Wednesday we are excited to participate in Global Play Day. Teachers may reach out about sending in board games or other materials. It was a total blast last year, and I look forward to sending photos after Wednesday.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Warmly,

Juliana

From the Office:

Please check (or have your children check) Lost and Found; we are overflowing with coats, sweatshirts, hats, mittens, and gloves, and are running out of space for them.  Please remember to label your children's clothing.

From Ann Creilson, Adjustment Counselor:

As part of our 100th day of school celebration on February 6th, we will have a school wide food drive to benefit Acord, our local food pantry. Acord is located in Hamilton and offers weekly food distributions, holiday meal programs, school vacation lunch bags, nutrition education and outreach, and emergency meal assistance. The students are eager to support them and hope to collect 100 items per grade level. We will be collecting Acord’s most needed items from  Monday, January 22nd through Tuesday, February 6th and each grade level is asked to bring in items listed below. Thank you so much in advance for your help with this!

Kindergarten- Coffee, tea, hot chocolate

First Grade-  Grains and grain mixes like Rice-A-Roni, rice pilaf, quinoa, farro, couscous

Second Grade-  Canned goods like chili, hearty soups, baked beans, canned meats or fish

Third Grade-  Breakfast items like pancake mix, cereal(hot and cold), jam, syrup

Fourth Grade-  Condiments like mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, salad dressing, soy sauce, etc.

Fifth Grade-  Paper items including paper towels, toilet paper, tissues

From the Health Office:

With the wet winter weather, we ask that all students have a spare set of clothing at school.  We do go out for recess every day, and more and more kids are coming to the nurse's office for a change of clothes.  Please send an extra set for your child, just in case they get wet and need a change.  They can keep this in their cubbies.

Hello Cutler Families,

As we all venture into the new year with the best intentions to live a healthy life, I thought it would be helpful to share some ideas for  Healthy Snacks for school.

Please keep in mind that we have students and staff in our Cutler community with life threatening food allergies, so please consult with your child’s teacher or school nurse for guidance regarding safe snacks in your child's classroom.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy new year !!

Darlene

Guidelines for Dismissal or Reasons to Keep Your Child Home from School:

In an effort to minimize the spread of contagious illness, the Hamilton Wenham Regional School District has developed the following guidelines for determining whether your child needs to be sent home or stay home from school: Fever (elevated temperature of 100.0 or higher). Must remain home until fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicines, such as Acetaminophen (Tylenol) or Ibuprofen (Motrin or Advil).
Vomiting or diarrhea. May return to school 24 hours after the last episode.
Generalized rash of unknown origin. Must be evaluated by a doctor and provide a note for re-entry into school.
Live head lice. Must be treated at home, and then re-checked by the school nurse, preferably with a parent/guardian present, upon return to school.
Red or pink itchy eyes with crusty and/or green/yellow drainage. May return to school when there is no drainage and/or on medication for 24 hours.
Strep throat. May return 12-24 hours after beginning antibiotic treatment and feeling better.
Uncontrollable cough or symptoms that make your child unable to function in the classroom.

Please refer to the mass.gov website for COVID guidelines:

This list is a guideline. The School Nurse reserves the right to dismiss students who, in their professional opinion, are possibly contagious or are too ill to be in school.
