There is no harder job than being a parent. Nothing else touches so much of a person so deeply—or unpredictably—and there is no training for it. This was true pre-COVID, as the pace of life accelerated, media influences intensified, and the future grew less predictable. So it’s no wonder parents now find it harder to be confident, how to reduce their children's stress—and their own. Dr. Evans will outline these dilemmas and offer concrete suggestions for successful coping.

Rob Evans is a psychologist, a former high school and pre-school teacher, and a former child and family therapist. He has worked with schools and parents throughout the country, including Hamilton-Wenham. His presentations are known for their lively wit and plain talk. He is the author of many articles and three books, including Family Matters: How Schools Can Cope with The Crisis in Childrearing.

News From The Health Office:
As part of our mitigation strategies to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in school, we are asking families to complete a daily symptom checklist for potential COVID-19 symptoms.
For families whose children are part of the hybrid program, we ask that you submit a daily symptom checklist on your child(ren)’s in-person school days via our web-based parent portal.  You should have received log-in instructions and a password from
noreply@studentehr.com.  Upon opening the portal the checklist will appear with your child(ren)’s names.  Passwords cannot be personalized, so please keep your password safely stored.  For forgotten passwords, you can contact your school nurse for it to be re-sent to you.  If your child is experiencing any of the listed symptoms, we ask that you keep your child home if it is their in-person learning day.

If your child(ren) is experiencing symptoms, please contact their health care provider and inform your school’s nurse.  Prior to returning to school please view the following guidelines for returning to school after experiencing potential COVID-19 symptoms.

Thank You All,
Lynne

Here is a great how-to video made by our MRMS nurse Maribeth Ting to help us use our new Symptom Checklist. Please remember to enter your child’s date of birth in this format    2digits/2digits/4digits example: 01/01/2007

News To Use – Week of October 26th

Hello Friends,

We hope this week’s NTU finds you well.

As most of you have probably guessed, our annual Ski, Skate & Board event will not be taking place this year.  There were many discussions on how we could run our sale during this pandemic, but ultimately, our priority is the safety and well being of the community.  We are all extremely disappointed, but look forward to a safe and successful sale next year!

We are very happy, however, to share that the Scholastic Book Fair and Acord Thanksgiving Food Drive will still be taking place!  Please stay tuned for details in next week’s NTU.

We wish everyone a safe and fun Halloween – trick or treat!!!

Warm regards,

FoC

It's not too late to submit your Signs of Thanks:

As we enter the season of gratitude, we would like to show our thanks to the Cutler staff and faculty.  In addition to the November snack cart (a special treat for faculty and staff), The Friends of Cutler Hospitality Committee would love for Cutler students and families to make signs of thanks for our Cutler community.

Please have your family or child(ren) create one or more 8x11 or larger thank you signs for all staff and faculty (not just a particular teacher, etc)

Please drop your signs off by October 29th at:
5 Moynihan Road South Hamilton, MA (drop off bin in driveway)
or email rsbarstow@gmail.com or stevensonka@hotmail.com for a pick up at your house!

The signs will be posted in the building on November 2nd for staff and faculty to read!

ALSO: If you would like to contribute to the November snack cart, please sign up here:
All food donations can be dropped off at 5 Moynihan Road or a pick up can be arranged!
