Lost and Found:  At Open House, please check the lost and found in the cafeteria.  We have a LOT of coats, hats, gloves/mittens , water bottles and lunch boxes.  Anything remaining at the end of the week will be donated.  Thank you!

Last Minute Dismissal Changes

For last-minute dismissal changes, please call the front office at 978-468-5330.

If at all possible, please let us know by 1 p.m.The end of the day can get very hectic and teachers cannot always check their emails.

§ School begins at 8:25 am.
§  Adult supervision on the playground begins daily at 8:15 am.§ Dismissal is at 2:57 pm. Wednesday dismissal is at 12:45 pm.Please do not drop off your children before then as there is NO supervision.

§ Early Release is at 11:15 am. There is no lunch served on early release days.You may want to pack a larger snack on early release days.

Title I Spring Literacy Communication:


Annie Drewes and Rebecca Butler, district literacy specialists, will be holding an information session for caregivers about the district’s literacy intervention model, including Title I services. They will provide you with information about the science of reading, how kids learn to read, and ways caregivers can support their young readers at home over the summer. There will be a morning session and afternoon session offered in the Buker School cafeteria for caregivers to choose from. Session 2 will take place on Thursday, May 4, from 2:00-2:45. Annie & Rebecca look forward to sharing this information with as many families as possible!

Staff Appreciation Week: 
"Go Team Cutler!" We are big fans of the Cutler Staff and can't wait to celebrate them during Staff Appreciation Week: May 8-12! 

Monday, May 8th: Chalk decorating and Wear Your Teacher's Favorite Color-
Help decorate with chalk messages before school, on the walkway leading up to the main entrance. Sidewalk chalk will be provided. (Beginning at 7:30am) *alternatively, you can stop by at your convenience on Sunday (weather permitting and bring your own chalk). Wear your teacher’s favorite color!

Wednesday, May 10th: Class bouquet - Bring a single flower to contribute to your teacher's bouquet. Staff Luncheon - Cutler Staff will be treated to a luncheon.

Thursday, May 11th: Notes of Appreciation. Bring cards, notes of appreciation, and/or the themed coloring page for teachers, staff, and specialists.

Friday, May 12th: Snack Cart - Staff will be treated to an assortment of snacks in the lounge.  We are collecting items for the teacher appreciation week snack cart and it would be greatly appreciated if you can contribute to this event for the Cutler Staff!

All week long: Prize Drawings - Prizes will be drawn and announced each day during Staff Appreciation Week and are donated by Cutler families.  If you would like to donate a gift for the daily prize drawing, please sign up using this link: 




5th Grade Dance: The Community House has a 5th grade Dance Party planned for Friday June 16th at 7:00-8:30pm.

Families register here: https://communityhouse.org/middleschool/ For a one-time middle school fee. Then admission for the dance is $8 and we sell $1 and $2 concessions!

Updates from the Cultural Enrichment Committee: 

The Cultural Enrichment Committee continues to bring exciting opportunities to the Cutler community! Here are some upcoming events for the students: 

  • On May 18th and 19th, 5th grade students will be participating in a Cradles to Crayons service field trip to The Giving Factory! 

Friends of Cutler Board Open Positions: 
The Friends of Cutler has 3 open Board positions for the 23-24 school year: Co-President, Co-Secretary, and Co-Treasurer. Each of these positions play a vital role in the day to day work of Friends of Cutler and towards achieving the organization's goal of supporting and enhancing the educational experience of the students of Cutler Elementary. 
These positions will work collaboratively with their counterparts to learn and acquire the volunteer responsibilities. Each of these positions holds a 2 year term.

Upcoming in May: Save your Change!
The Institution for Savings is pleased to continue with its Coins for a C.A.U.S.E. (Coins Add Up to Support Education) program to benefit elementary schools in our communities. During the month of May, when an individual converts their coins into paper currency using The Institution for Savings' convenient coin counting machines the Bank donates 100% of the 5% user fee to Friends of Cutler.
The Friends of Cutler Elementary School will be the recipient of funds from the following offices

37 King Street, Rockport

Save the Date! The 2nd Annual Cutler Cultural Festival is Friday June 2nd, 4:30-7:30. 
Please plan to bring the whole family and enjoy some great music, dancing, food and fun - a new school tradition of family style edutainment!
Picnic chairs and blankets encouraged.

The event features:
4:30: Kathaka: Dancing Rhythms and Stories of India
The ancient art of Kathak, meaning “story” uses swift and precise footwork, rapid spins, graceful gestures, and math to tell traditional Indian stories. 

5:30: Manquito: A Musical Journey Through the Carribean
From Rumba and Bomba to Merengue, enjoy the joyous musical styles of Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.  

6:30: Made in the Shade: The Roots of American Music
Explore he global influences and social forces that have shaped American music -  blues, jazz, country, rock’n’roll and hip hop.

Enjoy a dumpling making workshop with Mei Mei, classic Empanadas from La Frontera Sobresea, The Hot Dog Lady of course, and new this year….Zinneken’s Authentic Belgian Waffles!

Special appearance by Cutler’s own String Jam!
