Greetings from Cutler School!

Dear Cutler Families,
The summer is flying by and we are finalizing our preparations for the opening of school on August 30. I hope this note finds you enjoying the last few days of summer with your children. It was a summer of learning in my own family this year as my kids learned how to swim, ride bikes, and tie shoes. My son starts kindergarten next week; it's very hard to believe that time has passed so quickly!

At Cutler, we are busy cleaning and preparing the classrooms for the students' arrival at the end of the month. We are excited to announce that we have five new teachers joining us this year. Danielle Stueve will be teaching kindergarten, Becca Pinciaro will be teaching first grade, and Cassie Penta will be teaching fifth grade. Heidi Meikrantz is stepping in as our new therapeutic special education teacher and Kristen Brousseau joins us as an art teacher.

One event that we are looking forward to again this year is our Ice Breaker evening on September 18 which includes both parents and students. We know that the children are longing to introduce their parents to their teachers and want to show off their classrooms. All teachers will be in attendance and ready to greet students and their families in classrooms from 5-6:15pm. The classrooms will be open for all, with plenty of information to share about the upcoming year. At approximately 6pm, ice cream will be available on the playground and all are welcome to stay to enjoy the social aspect of the evening. As usual, the ice cream is free and provided by the Friends of Cutler. We sincerely hope that every family will attend. Teachers are excited to have all families in the classrooms so early in the year again and will be sure to provide plenty of written information for you to take with you at the end of the night or even earlier in the school year. We are committed to making this night special and informative.

We look forward to greeting students on the first day of school, Wednesday, August 30. We will welcome first through fifth grade students at 8:15am on the playground!

Please remember:
§  Adult supervision on the playground begins daily at 8:15am
§  School begins at 8:25 am
§  Dismissal is at 2:57pm. Wednesday dismissal is at 12:45pm.

If your contact information has changed over the summer, please contact us at the Cutler office as soon as possible (k.parker@hwschools.net). We will need updated street and email addresses as well as phone numbers to use in case of emergencies. It is very important that we have multiple emergency contacts to use in case we can't reach parents directly.

Please note that updated bus routes and stops will be posted on the district’s website (www.hwschools.net) under the district information tab. If you have any questions, please contact the district at transportation@hwschools.net .

The Absent/Tardy line is: 978-468-8472. Please leave a message each day if your child is going to be absent or tardy for school.

We publish the Cutler School News to Use at the start of each week here at cutlerschool.blogspot.com and will email the link each week.

Looking forward to seeing you soon,
Jenn Clifford
