Free Money: Last call for Crosby’s/Henry's receipts dated September 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018, is this week.  Thank you so much for all the receipts sent into Cutler School this year!  Box-Tops clipping continues on!
Adult Social: Save the date of Friday, April 27th from 7-11pm at the Hastings House in Beverly Farms!  The adult social is taking on a new twist this year – due to the continued success of our Ski Skate & Board event, this event will NOT be a fundraiser – rather just a FUN – RAISER!  Join us for a Corn Hole Tournament (you only have to pay if you wish to play – all other attendees may join in the fun for free).  Great Gatherings (for the adults) and Teacher Experiences (for the children) will be offered and as always, a cash bar will be available.  Ticket details forthcoming.
Cutler Community Festival (previously known as Family Fun Day/Night):  Over the past few years, this event (as well as its name) has continued to change to meet the needs of our families.  As you might have heard, we are in the process of continuing the conversation of change for this year’s event.  At Open House, a survey should have been distributed, asking for your opinion. Unfortunately, we are afraid that the survey was not at all clear.  Hopefully this offers a bit more insight…
Over the past two years, this event has been held after school on a Friday evening in June or late May.  It included events such as the Cake Walk, Bouncy Houses for younger siblings, a photo booth, a craft station, karaoke and lawn games.  The event has always been fun and was a chance for students to congregate with Cutler friends after school.  However, this event has also brought challenges including but not limited to: scheduling conflicts for many families during a hectic time of year and a lack of parent volunteers to help organize the event and then “man” the stations.
In an effort to make sure that ALL students are able to participate as well as to involve TEACHERS, we are strongly considering altering this event and making it a school-wide Wednesday morning of community building excitement.  The time would be devoted to team building activities and contests (to be held outside, weather permitting).  Students would be placed in their established Community Groups (small groups with a mix of grade levels K-5).  Parents who are willing and able to come during the day would be WELCOMED to join in the fun and work in tandem with teachers in running stations, etc.
While moving this event to school hours allows ALL students and teachers to participate, we certainly understand that not all parents will be able to attend due to other daytime commitments.  Happily, this year we have strived to create evening events such as Movie Night and Family Game Night/Book Fair among others, that have been enjoyed and attended by many.
We hope that you will take the time to complete this survey in order to provide the Friends of Cutler with feedback in order to make a decision that best meets the needs of our Cutler Community.  We appreciate your time and attention to this matter!
